You'll be surprised how many simple ways there are to save money and reduce your emissions! The Regulatory Commission of Alaska has an online flyer entitled Ways to Lower Your Electric Bills. Chugach Electric's site tells you How to Lower Your Energy Bill and also provides links to Energy Resources. Enstar Gas encourages customers to "Keep the Warmth Inside" with a sheet of Weatherization Tips. Green Star is a non-profit organization that helps businesses practice waste reduction, energy conservation and pollution prevention. The Alaska Division of Environmental Health Solid Waste Program has numerous online factsheets and guidance documents regarding waste disposal and recycling, including information specifically for rural areas. "Change the World, Start with ENERGY STAR" is a national campaign encouraging all Americans to join with millions of others and take small, individual steps that make a big difference in the fight against global warming. There are more than 50 categories of ENERGY STAR qualified products, in all price ranges, that use less energy, save money and help protect the environment. The Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy division of the US Department of Energy has an ENERGY SAVER$ page that provides tips for saving energy and money at home and on the road. The mission of Co-op America (known as Green America beginning January 2009) is "economic action for a just planet. Their site is an encyclopedia of ways to "live more lightly on the Earth," and includes a list of tips you can implement in your home today to save up to 66 percent on your energy bills. The American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy has an online Consumer Guide to Home Energy Savings. Redding Electric Utility has prepared a list of 53 Ways to Conserve Energy. A British site entitled Green Uses For Waste contains over 70 articles about ways you can re-use items you might otherwise just throw away. RECYCLE and RE-USE as much as you can!
