Only run your dishwasher with full loads PDF Print E-mail

Background

Running your dishwasher uses both electricity and hot water, so the less you run it, the more you will save on both your electricity and water heating bills. Consumer report has also stated that pre-rinsing dishes before putting them in the dishwasher does not necessarily help make them cleaner. By not pre-rinsing your dishes, around 20 gallons of water could be saved during each dishwasher cycle.
