Comment on OVERCOMING WAVE RESISTANCE by Steve Andrew https://www.uksailmakers.com/2023/05/09/overcoming-wave-resistance/#comment-579 Tue, 16 May 2023 09:32:21 +0000 https://www.uksailmakers.com/?p=8958#comment-579 What are your recommendations on sailing through big waves, when the boat takes off at the crest and slams down in the trough?
Sometime I come up on the wave face and then bear away in the trough but after 2 or 3 waves the boats motion is horrendous and I revert to slamming through.
Thanks, Steve

Comment on PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS: 5 TIPS FOR REVERSE PHRF RACING by Steve https://www.uksailmakers.com/2023/05/09/5-pursuit-racing-tips/#comment-564 Fri, 12 May 2023 16:41:24 +0000 https://www.uksailmakers.com/?p=8917#comment-564 Got to wonder where it started. I had never heard of it before we did it at RYC in SF Bay back in the 1980’s. We coined the term pursuit race as you chased down slower boats that started ahead. A lot of work at the front end setting up start times, but simple at the finish.

Any thoughts?
